1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how The Standard Squeeze Pty Ltd (ABN 72 652 159 450) ("The Standard Squeeze", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, holds and discloses your personal information when you visit thestandardsqueeze.com, buy from us, or otherwise deal with us.
We are an Australian business and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where we sell to customers overseas, we also aim to meet the reasonable expectations of those customers.
By using our website or buying from us, you agree to the handling of your personal information as described in this policy.
2. The personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that we reasonably need. Depending on how you interact with us, this can include:
- Identity and contact details: your name, email address, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses.
- Order and transaction details: the products you buy, order history, and communications about your orders.
- Payment details: payment is processed by our payment providers (see Section 7). We do not store your full card number. We receive limited details such as the payment method, the last digits of the card, and whether a payment succeeded.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and saved preferences.
- Support and communications: the contents of emails, messages, reviews, survey responses and social media messages you send us.
- Device and usage information: your IP address, browser type and version, time zone, the pages and products you view, search terms, referring pages, and how you interact with the site. This is collected automatically using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).
- Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to email or SMS marketing.
We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or religious information). Please do not send it to us.
3. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information:
- Directly from you when you place an order, create an account, contact our support team, leave a review, enter a competition, or subscribe to marketing.
- Automatically when you use our website, through cookies, pixels, tags and analytics tools.
- From third parties that help us operate, such as our payment, shipping, advertising and analytics providers, where you have interacted with them in connection with us.
4. Why we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- process and fulfil your orders, take payment, arrange delivery, and send order confirmations and updates;
- provide customer service and respond to your enquiries, including warranty and return requests;
- send you marketing about our products, offers and news where you have opted in, and manage your preferences;
- personalise and improve your experience, including tailoring the content and offers we show you;
- understand how our site is used and improve our products, website and service;
- detect, prevent and respond to fraud, security issues and misuse;
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We will only use your information for a purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented, or where we are otherwise permitted by law.
5. Cookies, analytics and tracking
A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit our site. We use functional, performance/analytics and advertising cookies and similar technologies (including pixels and tags) to make the site work, remember your cart and preferences, measure performance, and deliver and measure advertising.
This includes:
- Analytics and session tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which help us understand how visitors use the site. Microsoft Clarity may record interactions such as mouse movements, scrolling and clicks (in aggregated, de-identified form) to help us improve the site.
- Advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel and Google Ads, which help us show and measure relevant ads.
Depending on your location, we may show a cookie or consent banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of certain advertising as described below. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. See Section 9 for marketing opt-outs.
6. Artificial intelligence and automated tools
To run our business efficiently, we use AI-assisted tools in two limited ways:
- Customer service: AI tools help our team draft and speed up responses to customer enquiries. A team member reviews communications before they are sent.
- Marketing: AI features within our marketing platform help us group customers and tailor the timing and content of emails and SMS.
When we use these tools, only the information reasonably needed for the task is involved, our providers act under contract and on our instructions, and they are not permitted to use your information to train their own models for unrelated purposes. We do not make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you using AI alone, without human involvement.
7. Who we share your personal information with
We share personal information only as needed to run our business, and only with providers who are required to protect it. We do not sell your personal information. The categories of recipients include:
- E-commerce platform and hosting: Shopify, which powers our online store and checkout.
- Payment providers: Shopify Payments, PayPal, and wallet services such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Shipping and fulfilment: Australia Post and other carriers, and our third-party logistics (warehouse) provider.
- Email and SMS marketing: Omnisend (email and SMS) and Kudosity (SMS in Australia).
- Reviews: Loox, which collects and displays customer reviews and photos.
- Advertising and analytics: Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (including Google Analytics, Google Ads, reCAPTCHA, Google Maps for our store locator and Google Fonts), TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Microsoft Clarity.
- Customer service and AI tools: our help-desk and AI providers, as described in Section 6.
- Professional advisers and authorities: our advisers, and law enforcement or regulators where we are required or permitted by law, for example to respond to a lawful request or to protect our rights.
A current list of the key providers we use is available on request.
8. Overseas disclosure
Several of our providers are located outside Australia, or store data outside Australia. This means your personal information may be disclosed to, or accessed from, countries including the United States, Canada, and other countries in which our providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. Where we use an Australian provider (for example, Kudosity for SMS), your information is more likely to be handled in Australia.
9. Marketing and how to opt out
With your consent, we may send you marketing by email and SMS about our products, offers and news, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can opt out at any time:
- Email: click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any marketing email.
- SMS: reply STOP to any marketing message.
You can also contact us using the details in Section 14. We will action your request promptly, though you may still receive transactional messages about your orders, and messages already in production may take a short time to stop.
10. How we keep your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using reputable providers, securing access to our systems, and limiting who can access your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately if an issue occurs, including notifying you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (for example, tax and consumer-law record-keeping obligations). When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
12. Accessing and correcting your information
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. You can do this through the "Account" section of our site, or by contacting us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within a reasonable time. In limited cases we may need to keep certain records (for example, details of a past transaction).
13. Children
Our website and products are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Complaints and how to contact us

15. International users (including the EU and UK)
We are based in Australia, but we ship worldwide and welcome customers from other regions. Wherever you are, we handle your personal information in line with this policy, and if the law of your country gives you additional rights, those rights still apply.
If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR may apply to your personal information, and you have additional rights, including the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected, or incomplete information completed;
- have your information erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
- request a copy of certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Where we process your information, we usually rely on one of the following legal bases: performing our contract with you (for example, fulfilling your order), your consent (for example, marketing), our legitimate interests (for example, improving and securing our site and preventing fraud), or complying with a legal obligation.
Because we and our providers operate in Australia, the United States and elsewhere, your information may be transferred outside your country. Where we transfer personal information from the EU, EEA or UK, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, or, in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
16. Third-party links
Our site may link to third-party websites that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory or operational reasons. The current version is always available on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
