Lumberjack Cocktail Recipe
Brandy, maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. The Lumberjack is a whisky sour that went bush, swapped the sugar for maple and came back smelling like a campfire. Rich, warm, and done in about two minutes.
Serves 2
Ingredients
- Cognac or brandy - 90ml (3 Squeezes)
- Lemon juice - 30ml (1 Squeeze)
- Maple syrup - 30ml (1 Squeeze)
- Bitters - a dash
- Cinnamon - a sprinkle
Method
- Put the cognac, lemon juice and maple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake.
- Serve in a glass over ice, then add a dash of bitters and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
- Give it a swirl in the glass and enjoy.
Squeeze Tip
Use real maple syrup, not the maple-flavoured pancake stuff. The imitation is mostly corn syrup and it turns the drink flat and cloying. Real maple brings a smokiness that is the whole point of this one. Add the bitters and cinnamon on top at the end rather than in the shaker, so you smell them before you taste them.
