Bloody Mary Cocktail Recipe

Bloody Mary cocktail

Vodka, tomato and lemon, with Worcestershire, Tabasco and celery salt bringing the savoury heat. The Bloody Mary has held the brunch table since the 1930s, and you can build two at home in a couple of minutes with one mixing glass.

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • Vodka - 90ml (3 Squeezes)
  • Tomato juice - 180ml (6 Squeezes)
  • Fresh lemon juice - 30ml (1 Squeeze)
  • Worcestershire sauce - a few dashes
  • Tabasco - to taste
  • Celery salt and pepper - to taste

Method

  1. Stir all the ingredients gently in a mixing glass with ice. Do not shake.
  2. Pour into two ice-filled highball glasses.
  3. Garnish each with a celery stalk and a lemon wedge.

Squeeze Tip

Stir it, and leave the shaker in the drawer. Shaking whips air into the tomato juice and the drink comes out thin and frothy, while a gentle stir keeps it rich and velvety. Add the Tabasco a drop at a time and taste before you add more.
