Brandy Alexander Cocktail Recipe
The Brandy Alexander owned the 1970s. Cognac, brown creme de cacao and cream in equal parts, shaken hard and dusted with fresh nutmeg. It tastes like dessert, drinks like a proper cocktail, and it is due back on your bar. This one serves two.
Ingredients
- Brandy or Cognac - 60ml (2 Squeezes)
- Brown Creme De Cacao - 60ml (2 Squeezes)
- Cream - 60ml (2 Squeezes)
- Fresh grated nutmeg
Method
- Squeeze all three into a cocktail shaker full of ice and shake hard until the tin frosts over.
- Strain into two chilled cocktail glasses and finish each with a sprinkle of fresh grated nutmeg.
Squeeze Tip
Grate the nutmeg fresh, straight over the glass. Jarred pre-ground nutmeg lost its punch years ago. And give the shaker ten seconds longer than feels reasonable: cream needs a hard, cold shake to turn silky.
